Face off!

So here I have posted two pictures to try and compare side by side.  One is taken on Dec 7 at 216 lbs and the other on Dec 30 at 210.  Can you tell the difference?

I have survived Christmas!

Well...its official. ..Christmas is over and I srill managed to lose 0.4 pounds!  I haven't recorded my weight in 2 weeks partly because last week I was actually up a couple of pounds.  I recorded a huge loss a couple of weeks ago most likely due to being ill.  I will continue on my journey knowing that I am almost 30% od the way there AND am close to breaking that darn 200 mark.  I definitely feel better as it seems that so far I have lost mostly tummy fat.  Overall I have been feeling better with higher energy levels.

I really wish I had found this app sooner but I guess better late than never.

Getting through Christmas

So...lets see how this goes!    I think the hardest part is going to be not beating myself up over the days that I enjoy a little bit more than usual.  I am still goung to go about the same routine but plan for those other days.  I am looking forward to a piece of pie.  The key is going to be to not over indulge.  I certainly dont miss those days where I stuffed myself and then felt like crap all night.

I hadnt been sleeping well likely due to some stress at work but have been having good sleeps the past week which has certqinly made me feel better.

Yummy Recipe with very low calories...very spicy!

Found a great website that has lots of great looking recipes.  I made the Thai Coconut Curry Shrimp last week, which was absolutely delicious and very low calories.  The recipe makes 4 servings and boasts 126 calories per serving (when I made it, I actually calculated each ingredient separately, and was 113 calories).  This is off course before any rice or pasta that you serve with, AND, you get a really healthy portion of shrimp!

The website I have been using is www.skinnytaste.com, which was a recommendation from a lady in my office.  It allows you to log in and create a recipe box, which paired with the Zip List app, creates a handy shopping list for your ingredients.

Introductions!

To start off, this is my record of documenting my progress, feelings, etc, with my weight plan.  To start off, I officially started off on October 16th.  I am starting with the eating right and diet side, as this will be a key step in my weight loss.  My doctor suggested using an app called "Lose It".  The app is really neat, but I found that the database isn't that good for foods.  I really loved the user interface though.  Then I discovered another app, called, My Fitness Pal.  I reallllly like this one.  It has a very extensive database, and converts the recommended daily allowances based on the calorie goals. It also links up nicely to the pedometer, Runtastic, which automatically logs my steps.  I have a desk job, so things are pretty sedintary, but as I lose some weight, I anticipate that my energy levels will increase, and so will my activity.

Starting Point
Height:  5' 5"
Age:   42
Gender:  Female
Weight:  238 pounds (yikes)
Neck:  15 inches
Waist:  40 Inches
Hips:  50 Inches

My goal weight is somewhere between 135 and 145 pounds.

As of right now, on December 4th, my stats are as follows:

W:  218 pounds
N:  14.5 inches
Wa:  38 inches
Hips:  48 inches

That's 20 pounds so far, so I have reached 20% of my goal.

The one frustrating thing that I am finding now, is that I look in the mirror, and I can see changes, but they aren't so obvious to other people.  I am really looking forward to the day when someone notices that I look really good.  I do know that may be awhile from now, but still looking forward to that day.
